Heat Press Settings That Give You a Clean Peel Every Time
Don't guess. Use these:
Temp: 310°F to 320°F. Too low and the adhesive won't flow. Too high and you scorch red.
Time: 12 seconds, medium pressure.
Peel: Hot peel in one smooth motion. If you let it cool, corners can lift.
Second press: 5 seconds with parchment to matte the finish and boost wash life.
For hoodies and heavy blends, add 2 seconds. For 100% poly red or green, drop to 300°F to avoid dye migration. And press one test first. Every heat press runs a little different.
How to Store Your Transfers So They Stay Press-Ready
DTF transfers hate humidity and dust. Keep them flat in the zip bag they ship in. Store below 75°F and under 60% RH. Don't leave them near your heat press.
Shelf life is 12 months if stored right. After that, adhesive can yellow or lose tack. Rotate stock. First in, first out. If a transfer feels stiff or the powder looks clumpy, don't press it. We'll replace it.

Once pressed, the transfer resists water. You can wash, sweat, and wear it in snow. Don't soak unpressed transfers though. Keep them dry in storage. After pressing, the TPU adhesive bond is wash-proof and flexible for daily winter wear.
Expect 50 to 70 washes before fading if you follow press specs. Wash inside-out, cold water, tumble low. Avoid bleach. Real shop data shows DTF Promo prints still look solid after a full holiday season of weekly washing.
A clamshell or swing-away with accurate temp works. Cricut EasyPress can work for small runs but pressure is uneven. For 100+ shirts, use a 16x20" commercial press. Even pressure at 315°F is what bonds the adhesive. Inconsistent heat causes peeling.
Don't. DTF goes down first and last. Pressing vinyl over it traps heat and can melt the DTF layer. Pressing DTF over vinyl won't stick. Pick one method per area. If you need names, order them as separate DTF transfers from DTF Promo instead.
